Attribute item image settings First, you can set an image for each individual item. If you have image swatches template, or thumbnails enabled, you have 2 image input types: Thumbnail Main image Otherwise you have just the main image when preview is enabled. Because you can also choose not to enable preview and that will leave the main product image unchanged. So the thumbnail will be displayed within your card, option or image swatch. And the main image will be set or updated in the main product image.
Attribute image settings You can also adjust how your attribute images are set within the main product previews. First you need to change the “Modify product image settings” option to “Yes”. Then you will be presented with some more image options:
First of all, you have your gallery type. For 2D configurators this will be “Image”. But if you have 3D model, you should change this option to “3D model”. Continue at heading 3D model if you want to update 3D models. Next, you have your image layer order. By default all images are stacked upon each other in order of the attributes. But if you want an attribute to always be on top, you can enter here a higher number, like 10. This ensures the image layer is always on top of the other images. If you happen to have multiple slides, you can also choose to update the images on slide 3 instead of the first slide. This setting defaults to the first slide (1). You can also choose to make a certain slide active when the attribute is active with the “make slide active” setting. Finally, you can add a reference to the gallery preview image. You can use this value to update preview text styles, like color and font. Attribute 3D model settings
When you set gallery type to “3D model” you are presented with some different settings. First you can set the 3D model material group label. This is the group you want to apply the changes to. Next, you can define what the part is: a model variant, model node (mesh), or model material. If you select material, you can also specify the material type: base color or any of the following textures: base, metallic, normal, emissive or occlusion texture. You can just upload your material texture images to your main attribute image field like you do with regular images.
