In this post you will learn how you can dynamically apply textures to your 3D models. You do not have to add all textures within the 3D model. This allows you to make the size of the 3D model itself smaller, which results in faster load times. Attribute settings To control your model textures, head over to your Staggs attribute and open up the “Presentation” tab Make sure Gallery type is set to “3D model” In the 3D model group label, enter your material names. You can update multiple textures at once by entering your model names comma separated (material_1, material_2) If you don’t know the names, you can get the names by uploading your 3D model into our 3D model inspector. Simply click on the part in the model you want to apply texture to. Then you should see the value of the Material select change. That is your 3D material label. 3D model inspector
For the texture type, you can choose from the following types: Base Texture Metallic Texture Normal Texture Occlusion Texture Emissive Texture Most common type is the Base Texture. Attribute item settings The only thing left to do is upload our texture images to the attribute items. Make sure you have set your attribute type to “Image”
Next, scroll down to the attribute items and locate the Main images field. There you can upload your 3D model texture image file. Save the attribute. Now you should see that your model texture changes.
