Product Items We start off with the main items: the product items. You can see each product item as a product variation. You might be familiar with the product variations of WooCommerce. The product items are about the same. But we did not use the product variations, because we want you to be able to group these product items together in product groups.
Product Groups The product groups form a list of similar product items. Say you want to allow your customers to change the watch band. The product items would be something like watch band black, gold and silver. The product group name could then be Watch band. Finally, you can use this product group to use it in the product configurator.
Product Configurator Steps When creating a new product, you have the option to enable the product configurator. As soon as you check the mark the product single page will transform into a product configurator. The only thing you still need to do is link the product groups to the product configurator. On the product edit screen, you see a custom field named “Configurator steps”. Based on your plan, you can choose from 5 (free) or 7 (pro) step types. The step type determines how your step options will be displayed in the product configurator. Finally, you can select a product group in the step option. These options will then be displayed for the step.
Conditional steps You can even go a step further and configure conditional logic in steps. This is a feature only for users on the Pro plan. Say a set of colors is only available for a certain model. In that case you can use conditional logic to display the correct colors for the correct models!
